“Drivers who are excellent in following the rules and giving services, from a total of 20 YBS bus lines, will be honoured and rewarded,” the Yangon Region Transport Committee-YRTC stated at their media briefing.
At the briefing, YRTC declared that authorities have been shutting down CNG to bus lines that violated the rules and inspecting those that collect extra bus fares from passengers under the prescribed rules, for the purpose of public safety.
They will select and reward K300,000 to a total of 60 drivers: three drivers per company from the well-disciplined bus lines, and 20 drivers who have good moral behaviour by returning lost expensive items and cash to passengers, on 26 August.
A combined team consisting of the Transport Department (Urban), the “C” Charter Department, the “D” Pledge Department, the Discipline Enforcement and Inspection Department, the Department of Highway Passenger Transport and the Department of Commodity Supervision, will choose and reward the drivers with the scoring system. Moreover, YRTC has been arranging the schedule of buses with two employees per bus stop, for the convenience of passengers. —Nyein Thu (MNA)/GNLM
