MoFA, MoIC hold meeting on enhancing capacity building for officials, staff

The MoFA and MoIC meeting on capacity strengthening for officials and staff in progress yesterday.

The meeting on enhancing capacity building for officials and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of International Cooperation was held at 1 pm yesterday at the Ayeyawady Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw. On the occasion, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing delivered the remarks.
The Union minister underlined that the purpose of the meeting is to enhance capacity building and human resources for officials and staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as for officials and staff from government organizations and other ministries related to international organizations including those who are keen on diplomacy. He also emphasized that while implementing training programmes for human resource development, regular training programmes should be evaluated, comprehensive training programmes in accordance with the current development are required to be carried out, and comprehensive training programmes for the ground exercise and relevant curriculums should be formulated in respective departments.
Then, Union International Cooperation Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing said that required capacity-building training programmes for personnel should be provided to operate effectively the responsibilities of the ministry and the nation. He added that self-learning should be facilitated as well as knowledge and skills should be built and needs assessment on departmental functions should be examined. Afterwards, the meeting participants contributed suggestions, and the Union Ministers provided some instructions based on their suggestions.
Present at the meeting were the permanent secretary, the directors-general and officials concerned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. — MNA
