MIC warns not to manipulate basic foodstuffs, medicine prices

Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) released a statement to investors and companies not to manipulate the prices of basic foodstuffs and medicines based on the weather forecast.
It also urged to make preparations to prevent shortage of products in the market and participate in public rescue work.
Investors and companies running with approvals or permissions of MIC or approvals of region/state investment committees should make disaster preventive measures and preparations to evacuate the staff, their families and office materials to safe places, the statement said.
According to observations at 5:30 pm on 10 May, the Deep Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal has moved northwestward. It is centred at about 395 nautical miles southwest of Cocokyun, 520 nautical miles southwest of Hainggyikyun, 695 nautical miles south-southwest of Sittway, 350 nautical miles west-northwest of Nicobar Islands (India), 290 nautical miles southwest of Port-Blair (India) and 730 nautical miles south-southwest of Cox’s Bazaar (Bangladesh). The Deep Depression is moving towards Bangladesh-Myanmar Coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded orange stage. – TWA/KTZH
