More than 200,000 people visit museums under Department of Archaeology and National Museum in April-Feb 2023-24 FY

According to director Dr Aye Aye Thin from the Department of Archeology and National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw), there are 210,300 domestic and foreign visitors to the museums under the Department of Archaeology and National Museum from April to early February of 2023-2024 financial year.

The Department of Archaeology and National Museum manages 32 museums across Myanmar, and the visitors focus on visiting the National Museum in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon, the Archaeological Museum (Bagan) and the Cultural Museum (Mandalay).

“During the current financial year, a total of 210,300 domestic and foreign visitors including 206,000 domestic visitors and 4,300 foreign visitors came to study,” said Dr Aye Aye Thin.

The department is implementing to upgrade the museums with digital facilities for both local and foreign visitors to have access to these museums.

Museums across Myanmar are open daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm except Mondays and public holidays.— ASH /MKKS/TTA
