Myanmar Calendar Advisory Board publishes Thingyan and Buddhist Lent days

The Plenary Meeting of the Myanmar Calendar Advisory Board in progress from 18 to 24 February in Yangon.

The Myanmar Calendar Advisory Board has issued the official days of Maha Thingyan (water festival) and the period of the Buddhist Lent in 1385-1386 ME.
According to the board, the first day of the Maha Thingyan (water festival) in 1385–1386 ME will fall on Sunday, 14 April, at 12:24 pm, and the second day will be on 15 April. The final day of the water festival will be on 16 April at 4:29:26 am, while Wednesday, 17 April, marks the first day of the New Year in Myanmar and the Rakhine calendar.
The 72nd Plenary Meeting of the Myanmar Calendar Advisory Board was held at the National Theatre (Yangon) from 18 to 24 February, and the advisory board chair Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Panyeinda, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mra Zan, and officials attended the meeting. — TWA/TH
