Union Tourism Minister makes field trip to Bagan for development of hotels and tourism sector

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Aung Thaw on 10 March met with departmental officials and officials and entrepreneurs from hotels and tourism associations at the Aureum Palace Hotel and Resort in Bagan.
During the meeting, the Union Minister said that the arrival of domestic tourists to the Bagan region has exceeded the previous maximum arrivals, but the arrival of foreign tourists is still low, so everyone must cooperate to increase the arrival.
As the number of travellers increases, not only the hotels and tourism industry but also other related industries will develop. Cultural heritage must be preserved without damage.
The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, in accordance with the regulatory and legal procedures, decided to serve interests of the nation and the people under the law.
The Union Minister said that only when all entrepreneurs and local residents cooperate with each other will the tourism industry achieve greater success.
After that, officials from the hotels and tourism associations discussed the difficulties encountered and operations according to the relevant sectors, and the Union Minister responded to the reports.
At the Heritage Bagan Hotel where Thai language course is being conducted, the Union minister viewed teaching process.
He visited the Information Desk opened by the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism in Bagan Airport.
At the Bagan Information and Training Centre (BITC), the Union minister viewed round the information desk and met with staff of the Bagan branch of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism. —MNA/KZL
