MR to provide special railway service during pre-Armed Forces Day, pre-Thingyan holidays

Myanma Railways will run the special Up and Down trains for Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay routes on 24 March before Armed Forces Day and during pre-Thingyan holidays (7-8 April), MR stated.
“This move is to facilitate rail transportation for the commuters during three holidays including Armed Forces Day falling on 27 March. MR will expand its railway service on 24 March and 7 and 8 April for Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon with airbag up trains, in addition to the trains regularly running. Tickets are available at the respective railway offices,” said an official of the Mandalay Railway Station.
The special train includes six coaches each for the ordinary and upper classes.
The ticket fares for Mandalay-Yangon up trains (No.6 and No. 4) are set at K7,750 for the ordinary class, K15,450 for the upper class and K21,250 for slipper class. The airbag trains will depart from Mandalay on 24 March and stop at Kyaukse, Thazi, Pyawbwe, Yamethin, Nay Pyi Taw, Pyinmana, Toungoo and Nyaunglebin stations.
The trains running on 7 and 8 April will also depart from Mandalay and stop at Thazi, Nay Pyi Taw, Pyinmana and Bago stations. — Maung Aye Chan/EM
