Any YPS card can be checked to see if it is functioning, and a replacement card will be issued if it is not destroyed due to the user’s fault and still has a valid warranty period, according to Yangon Payment Service.
Non-functioning cards can be brought to the Sule sales counter for inspection and if the one-year warranty has expired or it is unusable for some reason, users will have to buy a new card and it will take seven days to transfer the balance from the damaged card.
“If a YPS card is destroyed or does not work automatically, it can be brought to the Sule sales counter to be checked. If it is not damaged due to user’s error and it is still valid, a new card will be issued free of charge. If the one-year warranty has expired or it has been destroyed for any reason, users must buy new cards. It will take seven calendar days to transfer the old balance to the new card,” Yangon Payment Services replied on its Facebook page. At present, YBS takers can either use YPS card or scan QR code via application to avoid the hassle of finding small changes.
If the card readers on buses are not opened, immediate maintenance or actions will be taken in cooperation with the relevant bus line if the bus line number and vehicle registration number are provided, according to Yangon Payment Services. — MT/ZN/Ed
