The Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation issued a public notice on 14 June, saying that there is no change in electricity tariffs.
The Ministry of Electric Power has revised electricity tariffs since 1 July 2019 and has been collecting the bill according to the revised rates. The notice also said that the tariff increases news shared on social media is a reprint of the previous increase in 2019.
Currently, the electric power rate for homes is set at K35 from 1 to 30 units; K50 per unit from 31 to 50 units; K70 per unit from 51 to 75 units; K90 per unit from 76 to 100 units; K110 per unit from 101 to 150 units; K120 per unit from 151 to 200 units; K125 per unit from 201 unit and above, respectively.
As for non-home use, it is set at K125 per unit from 1 to 500 units; K135 per unit from 501 to 5,000 units; K145 per unit from 5,001 to 10,000 units; K155 unit from 10,001 to 20,000 units; K165 per unit from 20,001 to 50,000 units; K175 per unit from 50,001 to 100,000 units and K 18 per unit from 100,001 and above respectively. — TWA/GNLM
