Best Film Editing Academy awardee G3 (aka) Ko Zaw Tun passes away

The best film editing academy awardee G3 (aka) Ko Zaw Tun passed away at his house located in Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Yangon, at around 11 am on 23 November, according to his father, director Maung Tin Nyein (Shumawa). At the time of his passing, he was only 37 years old, and he received the Best Editing Academy Award for 2019 along with Kyaw Khine Soe for the movie “1014”. He was the assistant director for the movie “Yaukkyarkaung Ataungnhasel,” together with his father, director Maung Tin Nyein (Shumawa).
“He was hospitalized with hepatitis. As his liver was deteriorating, the doctor suggested transplanting it. He was treated in the hospital again a couple of weeks ago as half of his liver was malfunctioning, and he came out of the hospital about a week ago. Last night, he lost consciousness. Then, he vomited blood and was feeling ill and went to hospital again. He died just before the process of blood transfusion at 11 am this morning in North Okkalapa Hospital,” his father said.
The funeral is scheduled for 3 pm on 25 November at the Yayway cemetery in North Oakkalapa Township, Yangon. — ASH/TRKM
