Families of Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) join 13th Kathina offering ceremony

Families of the Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) held the 13th Kathina offering ceremony at Anawrahta Hall of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) yesterday morning, attended by Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla who donated Kathina robes and alms.
The Senior General and wife viewed round Kathina robes and alms displayed for monasteries and paid homage to the Buddha image in the hall.
The Senior General and wife offered Kathina robes to Presiding Patron of KanU Monastery of Yezin in Zeyathiri Township Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Vilasa and Paukmyaing Monastery Presiding Patron Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda.
SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe donated Kathina robes and offerings to Presiding Patron of Pali Tekkatho Mingalazeyon Monastery of Pyinmana Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Vimalabuddhi.
Senior military officers and their wives also presented Kathina robes and alms to members of the Sangha.
Ashin Vayama and Ashin Javana from Yezin KanU Monastery performed a question-and-answer session for the Kathina robe-offering process.
The Senior General, wife and congregation offered day meals to members of the Sangha.
Donated offerings for the 13th Kathina robe-offering ceremony were conveyed from Anawrahta Hall to Uppatasanti Pagoda.
At the ceremony, staff and families from offices and departments from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) donated Kathina robes and alms worth more than K174.2 million. — MNA/TTA
