Artistes donate cash to fund of respect-paying ceremony.

The artistes make an advertisement for raising awareness of the 103rd Myanmar Motion Picture Day and 46th respect-paying ceremony that will be held on 13 October, according to U Aye Kyu Lay, vice-chairman of the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization (MMPO).
The advertising for respect-paying event awareness is made by film director Zaw Myint Oo and co-director Aung Awba and cameraman Academy Tin San. It features many film stars such as Academy Award winners Yan Aung, May Than Nu and so on.
“Currently, most artistes are making movies in the countryside areas. We make such an advertisement with actors so those in the countryside will know about the respect-paying event and can make donations. This year’s event will include donation stalls. Now, we are compiling the exact lists of the elderly for the ceremony. Some pass away and new ones are on the list. There might be about 180 on the list. The Myanmar Motion Picture industry started on 13 October 1920 and it will mark 103rd anniversary. The 46th respect-paying ceremony will be held on the same day,” said the MMPO vice-chairman.
Currently, artistes make cash donations for respect-paying ceremonies, and the donation amounted to K4,150,000.
