MoH organizes monsoon tree-growing ceremony 2023

The Ministry of Home Affairs organized its annual monsoon tree-growing ceremony for 2023 at the compound of the Expressway Police Station in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday.
Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut, a member of the State Administration Council, along with senior officers, their spouses, and departmental staff under the Ministry of Home Affairs, attended the ceremony. During the event, Union Minister Lt-Gen Soe Htut delivered remarks emphasizing the significance of tree planting.
Following the remarks, the Union minister and his wife planted a teak sapling as a symbolic gesture of their commitment to environmental conservation.
Deputy Minister Maj-Gen Toe Yi and his wife, Deputy Minister Chief of the Myanmar Police Force Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet and his wife, the permanent secretary and spouse, as well as senior officers and their wives, also planted trees in designated areas.
Subsequently, accompanied by officials, the Union minister and his wife observed and encouraged the ongoing tree-planting activities.
During the ceremony, the ministry successfully planted 1,200 saplings, including teak, ironwood, and Thingan (Hopea Odorata Roxb), among others, contributing to the greening efforts of the region. — MNA/MKKS
