MoH Union Minister meets entrepreneurs from India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win meets entrepreneurs of India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce in Yangon on 29 January.

At the invitation of India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce-IMCC in Yangon, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win attended the meeting as a guest of honour at the India Centre in Yangon yesterday afternoon.
In the meeting, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Vinay Kumar extended greetings and explained the cooperation between India and Myanmar in various arenas.
After that, the Union Minister said that the India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce is an important organization as the bilateral trade and investment conditions are further enhanced.
India-Myanmar relations have been lasting since ancient times, and because of the closeness of the two countries’ borders, they have been able to further enhance relations.
India is Myanmar’s main trade partner, and in 2021-2022, the trade value reached some 1.89 billion US dollars, and it will continue to improve. Pharmaceutical products are the main import products from India to Myanmar,” the Union Minister continued.
He said that the Ministry of Health has been purchasing and distributing medicines made in India annually depending on the national budget for use in hospitals so that the people of Myanmar have access to quality medicines.
The Department of Food and Drug Administration is also conducting rapid acquisition of import licences for imported drugs and medical products for safely and securely, he said.
India is developing in medical science, and he urged medical professionals from India to come to Myanmar and collaborate with Myanmar medical professionals to carry out medical treatments and to invest in pharmaceutical factories.
Then the Chairman of India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce Mr Naresh Kumar Dinodiya and the secretary explained the activities of the India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Union Minister responded to the questions of the Indian entrepreneurs. —MNA/KZL
