Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, along with Permanent Secretary U Min Min Oo and officials inspected the Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Training School of the Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
During the inspection tour, the principal and officials from the training school explained the opening of the school and the preparation during the temporary closure of the school during the COVID-19 period.
The Union Minister said to make an effort to produce and export high-valued jade jewellery rather than exporting them as raw stones and to make arrangements to be ready to reopen the Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Training School in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports as the training school is important for human resource development and job creation.
He added to coordinate with the Myanmar Workers’ Skills Standards Establishment Team for the training and the necessity to create and produce designs that foreign countries like.
The Union Minister and party also visited Mani Yadanar Jade Hall, the former hall for gems exhibition, in Zabuthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.—MNA  (Translated by EPPA)
