Myanmar implements ASEAN five-point consensus adjusted with the roadmap of the State Administration Council, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing unveiled the process of implementing the ASEAN five-point consensus at a meeting with Mr Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar, at the Credentials Hall of the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
They cordially exchanged views on prioritized measures to be implemented at a time when the responsibilities ASEAN Alternate Chair will be taken in 2024.
In their talks, both sides cordially discussed the excellent process of friendly relations and cooperation between Laos and Myanmar, serving State responsibilities by the State Administration Council due to voting frauds in the 2020 multiparty democratic general election, committing armed terrorism without solving the political controversies on the political trend, efforts of the government to ensure peace and stability of the State and national reconciliation, firm standing of Tatmadaw on strengthening the multiparty democratic path the people aspire to, the five-point roadmap adopted by the State Administration Council with concerted efforts for peace and stability of the State and development, implementation of political and national visions, and full cooperation of Myanmar in humanitarian aid measures.
Also present at the meeting were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials.
The special envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar was accompanied by the Lao Ambassador to Myanmar and officials. — MNA/TTA
