Launching ceremony of the National Landmark Sculpting and Painting Youth Camp for LMC Fine Arts Students in progress.

The launching of the National Landmark Sculpting and Painting Youth Camp for LMC Fine Arts Students, one of the projects of the Mekong-Lancang cooperation scheme, was held at Yadanabon hall in Mandalay via virtual system yesterday morning.
First, the ceremony was opened performances with a Myanmar traditional spirit dance.
Then, Union Minister of Religion Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko said that the People’s Republic of China, Cambodia, Laos, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam have been relying on the Mekong River at Mekong-Lancang river basin as regional member countries. The National Landmark Sculpting and painting Youth Camp for LMC Fine Arts Students, which includes young sculptors and painting artists from six member countries in the Mekong-Lancang region, was hosted by the National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) in Mandalay on 29 and 30 January.
Next, Chief Minister of the Mandalay Region U Maung Ko, Minister Counselor Dr Zheng Zhihong from Chinese Embassy to Myanmar, Vice Chair of the Mekong-Lancang cooperation committee U Win Zeyar Tun from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended greetings.
After that, painting and sculpture expert from China Ms Jixian Huang and Myanmar expert Dr Pyae Phyo Kyaw discussed the history of the art and sculpture. Then, a song and dance in honour of Mekong-Lancang cooperation was presented.
The project on National Landmark Sculpting and Painting Youth Camp for LMC Fine Arts Students will continue for the second day on 30 January. —MNA/KZW
