New COVID-19 cases drop in Mandalay District

According to the announcement of Ministry of Health, the number of new COVID-19 cases has decreased in seven townships of Mandalay region within 24 hours.
Mandalay is under the stay at home order as the number of positive cases and deaths increased in July.
In July and early August, more than 50 new cases were reported in seven townships in Mandalay district daily. The number of cases has been dropped slightly since 9 August. On 13 August, Only 19 new cases were reported a day in Mandalay district.
Mandalay district reported 64 COVID-19 confirmed cases with 17 deaths on 9 August, 43 confirmed cases with eight deaths on 10 August, 38 confirmed cases with 13 deaths on 11 August, 22 confirmed cases with 11 deaths on 12 August and 19 confirmed cases with 16 deaths on 13 August.
According to the press release, although the number of new COVID-19 cases in Mandalay district drops, the number of new cases announced on 9, 10 and 12 August in Mandalay region is listed on the highest number of new infection rate daily in the country, with over 40 deaths.—Aye Maung/GNLM
