Over 80,000 foreign tourists visit Myanmar since early 2023

More than 80,000 foreign tourists have entered Myanmar since the beginning of 2023, the statistics of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism indicate.
There were 32,992 foreign tourists with business visas, 12,402 with tourist visas, 34 with official visas, and 35,304 with other visas who entered the country.
The monthly foreign tourist inflows in 2023 showed that 75,401 foreign tourists arrived in January and February, 2,581 tourists in March, and 2,750 tourists in April, totalling 80,732.
Over 230,000 foreign tourists visited Myanmar in 2022. Most of them were business visa holders and there were only about 11,000 entering on tourist visas, according to the 17th Annual General Meeting of the Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association on 25 February.
The number of arrivals in the first four months of this year is almost the same as in the previous year of 2022, according to the statistics of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism. — TWA/CT
