Pilgrims flock at famous pagodas in Yangon Region on Thadingyut Festival

Famous pagodas including Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon were crowded with pilgrims who keep Sabbath, doing good deeds by donating fragrances to the pagodas, practising Dhamma and donating food to the visitors.
Under the supervision of Shwedagon Pagoda board of trustees, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended the merit-sharing for Buddha Pujaniya Festival at the ancient Buddha image prayers hall.
In addition to this, Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Pagoda, Botahtaung Pagoda, Sule Pagoda, Ngahtetgyi Pagoda, Chaukhtetgyi Pagoda, sacred tooth relic pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Buddha image in Yangon Region were crowded with pilgrims.
The pagodas also carry the guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19 disease issued by the Ministry of Health for the public to worship.
In addition, Yangon’s Thadingyut Market and Lantern Festival was held at People’s Square in Dagon Township from 8 October, the eve of the Thadingyut Full Moon day, one day over the Thadingyut Full Moon Day. It is being celebrated for three days until 10 October.
At the weekend market, anyone can buy consumer goods on a first-come, first-served basis. cosmetics and food, and fruits at 170 stalls around 10 feet in width.
The weekend market is from 7 am to 10 pm and Stage show music performances will be held from 5 pm to 10 pm and fireworks were set off in the public square at 7:00 pm.—TWA/GNLM
