State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing holds peace talks with RCSS(SSA) Chairman Sao Yawd Serk and delegation in Nay Pyi Taw on 20 May 2022.

State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held talks on peace issues with a peace delegation led by Restoration Council of Shan State-RCSS (SSA) Chairman Sao Yawd Serk at the parlour of Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Also present at the talks was Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Council members General Mya Tun Oo, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and Lt-Gen Yar Pyae. The Chairman of Restoration Council of Shan State-RCSS (SSA) was accompanied by Secretary-1 Sao Sai Ngin and Central Executive Sao Saung Han.
At the talks, the Senior General explained the issues of exercising the multiparty democratic system based on the same views of both sides and building the Union based on democracy and federalism. The Chairman of the Restoration Council of Shan State-RCSS (SSA) discussed similar views and attitudes over these measures. They then frankly exchanged views on a plan to systematically draw up the time frame for the process of peace talks after completion of meetings with all organizations, and both sides’ views on the peace process.
After the talks, the Senior General and the Chairman of RCSS-SSA posed for documentary photos after exchanging commemorative gifts.
The delegation led by the Chairman of Restoration Council of Shan State-RCSS (SSA) will continue peace talks with the Peace Talks Committee and the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiate Committee formed with members of the State Administration Council. — MNA
