SAC members, Union ministers inaugurate Zwekabin Stadium

The Zwekabin Stadium is ceremonially opened yesterday.

An opening ceremony of Zwekabin Stadium was held at 8 am yesterday at the football stadium in Hlarkamyin Kwatthit, Hpa-an Township to mark the 67th Kayin State Day.
State Administration Council members Mahn Nyein Maung and Saw Daniel, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Myint Kyaing, Dr Pwint San, U Min Thein Zan, Dr Thet Thet Khine, U Saw Tun Aung Myint and Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo ceremonially inaugurated the stadium.
At the ceremony, the Kayin traditional cultural dance troupe, Mon cultural troupe and PaO cultural troupe performed traditional songs and dances. Students from elementary schools demonstrated physical fitness dances. SAC members and Union ministers presented awards to the performers.
The Zwekabin Stadium was built with K7,766.224 million from the six-month budget of the financial year 2022-2023.
The U-18 Multi-Township Men’s and Women’s Athletics Competition was also held and the state chief minister, state ministers and sports enthusiasts watched the women’s relay race and the men’s relay race. The state chief minister provided K200,000 each to the competing teams. — MNA
