Shan United held by Yangon United, Maha beats GFA in MNL week 11

Defending Champion Shan United Football Club was held by second-placed Yangon United Football Club in a 0-0 draw at the Yangon United Sports Complex whereas Maha United FC defeated GFA FC with 5-3 at the Thuwunna Stadium on the third day of 11th match in Myanmar National League 2023 on 5 July 2023.
Despite drawing with the Yangon FC, the Shan FC stands at the top of the table at the first half of MNL season. The Shan FC are able to maintain their undefeated record due to a result of this draw. The two teams participated in the competition with their strongest first lineup including foreign players and played with attacking. Both teams had chances to score in the first half. Strikers of both teams could not grab the opportunities due to the best playing of defensive players and goalkeepers. And neither could they in the second half although they were changing the players. After this match, the defending champion Shan FC accumulated 29 points in 11th games and stand at the top of the standing table whereas the Yangon FC managed to secure 25 points in 10th games.
At the other match playing at Thuwunna Stadium on 5 July, Maha United FC defeated GEA FC with 5-3 goals. Maha United got their goals from Akar Kyaw at 10th minute, Kyaw Swa Min, 38th minute, Patrick, 45+2 minutes, Myo Min Phyo, 65th minute and Nay Lin Tun, 88th minute. GFA team got their goal 24th minute, 55th minute and 90+2 minute by Chan Nyein, Joseph and Hein Thet Phyo. After this match, the Maha FC managed to secure 14 points in 11th games whereas the GEA got seven points in 11th games. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
