Tri Pitakat treatises approved by Sixth Buddhist Synod donated to Lao monastery

The ceremony of offering Tri Pitakat treatises approved by Sixth Buddhist Synod donated by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in progress at Thatluang Sangha Nayaka Tipitaka Monastery in Vientiane of Laos, yesterday.

A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win accompanied by Myanmar Ambassador to Laos U Aung Ko, Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Khin Maung Soe attended the ceremony of offering Tri Pitakat treatises approved by Sixth Buddhist Synod donated by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at Thatluang Sangha Nayaka Tipitaka Monastery in Vientiane of Laos, yesterday morning.
Firstly, Sangha Nayaka Chair of Laos Most Ven Maha Bounma Simmaphom and Sangha Nayaka monks prayed for all, and the Union minister supplicated donation’s purpose as both countries have the common culture and history.
The donations were made for monasteries and religious universities in Laos.
It aims to bolster the sustainability and strength of Buddhism.
This act of generosity is also intended to endure cooperation and friendship between the two nations in all sectors.
After that, the Union minister offered the Tri Pitakat treatises and alms to the monks. Then, they also visited Sangha Nayaka Tipitaka Monastery and religious buildings in Vientiane, Laos.
Chairperson Mr Dr Chanpheng Sudthivong for Lao Front for National Development (LFND), Deputy Minister for Information, Culture and Tourism Mr Phosy Keomanivong and other invitees also attended the ceremony.
The Union minister and party arrived back in Yangon in the evening. — MNA/ TRKM
