Veteran scriptwriters are pictured receiving obeisance yesterday in Yangon.

Veteran scriptwriters aged over 80 were accorded respects at the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization building in Yangon yesterday, according to U Aye Kyu Lay, Vice-Chair of the association.
Relevant personnel handed over K150,000 plus snacks, clothes and traditional medicines to each veteran scriptwriter.
“We paid respects to script writers over 80 years old who were in our script layer. The film association paid their respects to more than 100 artistes who are over 70 years old. I respect the fact that we have learned from script teachers in the past. Screenwriters don’t have money, but they contribute to each other. I want to show respects to those who are older than me, so we are holding this event,” said U Aye Kyu Lay.
The same kinds of events were also held in 2019 and 2022. — ASH/KZL
