NUPCC holds talks with 6 EAOs, non-signatories of NCA, in Mongla

The National Unity and Peace Coordination Committee (NUPCC) held an informal meeting on regional development, peace processes and health issues with six armed ethnic groups which are yet to sign Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) in Mongla, Shan State (East) on 15 and 16 December.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the NUPCC Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and committee members, peace negotiators, officials from the Triangle Region Command, representatives from United Wa State Army (UWSA), National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA), Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), Union League of Arakan (ULA/AA), Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and Shan State Progress Party (SSPP/SSA).
During the discussion, Committee Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae explained the purpose for the meeting and further peace processes. Representatives from each of the six ethnic armed organizations (EAOs) openly and cordially discussed their views on the peace processes, suggestions for further action, and issues related to COVID-19 vaccination, and the Committee Chairman and members added necessary suggestions.
The committee also met each group that attended the meeting and Chairman U Sai Lin of NDAA Mongla and party separately and discussed ways to reduce armed conflicts, issues in connexion with ongoing peace processes, mutual trust-building, health and regional development, drug control and border peace and tranquillity.
Afterwards, the committee chairman offered the attendees Tatmadaw-made food.—MNA
