Myanmar participates in 321st ASEAN Committee meeting in Tokyo

Myanmar Ambassador to Japan U Soe Han represented the country at the 321st ASEAN Committee (Tokyo) meeting held on 30 April in Tokyo, Japan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
The meeting of the committee, organized by ambassadors from ASEAN member countries based in Tokyo, was held at the residence of Indonesian Ambassador Mr Heri Akhmadi, who serves as the chair of the committee. During the meeting, they discussed Japan’s domestic and regional developments, as well as issues related to the exchange of information between ASEAN embassies. Additionally, they explored the establishment of a team of consular officials for cooperation with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist citizens of ASEAN member countries in case of emergencies, such as earthquakes.
Furthermore, a dinner talk took place between the ASEAN ambassadors and Mr Ryo Nakamura, Deputy Minister and Director-General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the talk, they exchanged views on ASEAN-Japan cooperation, as well as collaboration between ASEAN embassies and the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in emergencies such as earthquakes. — ASH/TKO
