Over 600 Myanmar workers enter South Korea in May

A total of 622 Myanmar workers entered the Republic of Korea in May, according to the statement of the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul.
As the 5th batch, 122 Myanmar workers were sent to the Republic of Korea on 31 May. Of them, 63 were re-entry workers, and 49 new workers will work as production workers.
Within May, 135 workers on 3 May, 128 workers on 10 May, 117 workers on 17 May and 130 workers on 24 May, totalling 622 workers were sent to South Korea. They will work in the agricultural and livestock sector, construction sites, or production of goods.
The minimum wage for South Korea in 2022 is set as 9,160 Won per hour, and the monthly wage is about two million Won, which is increasing the number of workers who want to go to work every year. More than 30,000 Myanmar workers are working in South Korea under the EPS system. — TWA/GNLM
