Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC) launches online in-country programme on developing modern TVET curriculum

The opening ceremony of In-Country Programme on Developing Modern TVET Curriculum was jointly held by Colombo Plan Staff College for Technician Education (CPSC) in collaboration with the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training at 9:00 am on 30 May 2022 at the Ministry of Science and Technology via online. Permanent Secretary Dr Sai Kyaw Naing Oo addressed the inaugural address. Then, Director-General of CPSC Prof. G.L.D. Wickramasinghe and U Aung Kyaw Oo, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Philippines delivered speeches and videos of the Department and CPSC were presented.
The Developing Modern TVET Curriculum is offered in collaboration with CPSC from (30-5-2022) to (3-6-2022) to the subject team leaders and members from Government Technological Colleges, Government Technical Institutes and Government Technical High Schools under DTVET to assist in designing curricula. A total of 30 participants attended the course. The course will include Theme Papers on “Overview of the TVET System in Myanmar”, “Understanding Competency-Based Training”, “Identifying Priority Occupations”, “Identifying Competencies”, and “Designing CBT Programmes and Developing a Curriculum Framework”. Special lectures of programme contents include group work presentations. The expected outcome of the In-country programme is to plan for Post-COVID Issues and Challenges, List of Priority Skills Requirements, DACUM Chart, Program Design, Module Design and Curriculum Framework.—MNA
