Myanmar film ‘Mysterious Snow’ screens at ASEAN Film Festival in London

The Myanmar film titled ‘Mysterious Snow’ was screened at the ASEAN Film Festival, held at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University in London, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The festival, held from 22 to 27 April, saw the attendance of Chargé d’affaires of Myanmar Embassy U Tun Aung Kyaw and officials at both the opening ceremony on 22 April and the Day of Myanmar Film Festival on 24 April.
The chairperson of the ASEAN-London Committee, the Thai ambassador, and Professor Rachel V Harrison from SOAS University delivered the opening speeches at the film festival. Diplomats, embassy officials, family members, officials from SOAS University, and guests from respective countries were present.
A total of ten films were screened by the embassies of 10 ASEAN countries at the ASEAN Film Festival, with each embassy showcasing one film. Additionally, the Myanmar film ‘Mysterious Snow’ was explicitly screened for the Day of Myanmar Film Festival.
Mysterious Snow was a novel written by author Juu, and Academy Award winner Nyein Min penned the script. The film was directed by Academy Director Zinyaw Maung Maung, with Academy Award winners Nyunt Win, Lwin Moe, Lu Min, and Soe Myat Nandar starring in it. — ASH/TRKM
