MoH Union Minister receives malaria expert

The Union Health Minister receives the malaria expert from the Malaria Programme Review Mission yesterday.

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received the delegation led by international malaria expert, Dr Sean Hewitt, from the Malaria Programme Review Mission at the lounge of the ministry yesterday afternoon.
During the meeting, the Union minister said Myanmar is systematically planning to achieve the goal of eliminating malaria by 2030. He also said the Ministry of Health and local and foreign malaria experts will review the recommendations on anti-malaria activities and continue to implement them.
Afterwards, the malaria expert reported his field trip to the townships of Yangon Region, Shan, Mon and Kachin states to explain the findings and recommendations from the review of anti-malaria activities, and the Union minister provided necessary instructions.
Deputy Minister Dr Aye Tun, directors-general, regional and the international malaria experts from Malaria Programme Review Mission, officials from WHO and Global Fund based in Geneva, Switzerland, also attended the meeting. — MNA
