Combined teams under the management of the Taninthayi Region Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force confiscated a Honda Fit car (estimated value of K1.7 million) without official documents near Zaha village in Dawei township, a Hijet car (estimated value of K3 million) without official documents at the 10th-Mile checkpoint in Kawthoung township, a Toyota Probox car (approximately K2.5 million) without official documents near the 7th Junction traffic light in Dawei township, a Honda Fit car (estimated value of K2.5 million) without official documents near the market in Dawei township, 1,920 bottles of Chang beer (worth K3.52 million), 720 bottles of Leo beer (worth K372,000), 36 bottles of Black and White whisky (worth K1.11 million) and 12 bottles of Bland 285 (worth K480,000) at the Manyadana bus stand in the highway bus terminal compound in Dawei township on 5 June. The action was taken under relevant procedures. In addition, a combined team captured 450 packages of illegal second-hand clothing (worth K112.5 million) at the H-220 warehouse in Chanmyathazi township, Mandalay Region, on 5 June. The action was taken under Customs procedures. Similarly, a combined team seized a Honda Fit car (estimated value of K8.5 million) without official documents at the combined checkpoint in Maubin township on 6 June. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law. A total of 0.2686 tonnes of illegal teak and 1.1066 tonnes of other timbers (worth K266,426) were impounded in Nyaunglebin and Pyay districts and a Honda Fit car (approximately K3.5 million) without official documents was also captured at the Sittoung Bridge (Moppalin) combined checkpoint on the Yangon-Mawlamyine Road on 6 June. The action was taken under the Forest Law and Export and Import Law. The Customs team on duty at the Mayanchaung permanent checkpoint captured two kinds of goods (worth K3.75 million) including 1,200 Lady Wear without official documents from a Hyundai bus (estimated value of K30 million) heading to Yangon from Myawady on 6 June. The action was taken under Customs procedures. The combined team seized a Noah auto (estimated value of K9.5 million) without official documents at the Kyweye combined checkpoint in Monywa township, a Nissan AD van auto (estimated value of K6 million) without official documents at the Sakhata (8) combined checkpoint in Shwebo township and a total of 0.884 tonne of illegal teak and 133.318 tonnes of other timbers near Myitnakine village in Monywa township. The action was taken under Export and Import Law and Forest Law. Therefore, 14 arrests (estimated value of K198,901,176) were made on three consecutive days from 5 to 7 June, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
