Yangon, Mandalay set for joint 2024 New Year countdown celebrations

2024 New Year Countdown Celebrations will be held in Yangon and Mandalay, according to the information received from officials who will hold the ceremony.
As per the information from the Yangon Region government, the celebration will be held at the People’s Square starting at 6 pm on 31 December and the event will be entertained by artist, vocalists, DJs, and dance troupes.
In addition, the Yangon New Year Countdown was held on 30 December as a pre-event for the new year and on 31 December at Thuwanabumi Event Park in Yangon.
In Mandalay Region, the Mandalay Region Government will hold a New Year’s Celebration at the corner of 26th Street and 66th Street starting at 6 pm on 31 December.
At the event, Htoo L Lin, Jack Mya Thaung, Suzi, Htun Yati, Gay Gay, and other celebrities will perform and modern music, Myanmar Traditional Music and DJs will be entertained.
“This year’s celebration is expected to be crowded. Some people will go to the event as well as those who have plans for New Year’s night. But all people desire the events to celebrate happily,” a 25-year-old young man said.
In addition, public recreation areas such as Inya Lake, Kandawgyi, etc. in Yangon will also be crowded with visitors, according to the collected information. — Htet Oo Maung/TKO
