Myanmar introduces Thanakha at National Multicultural Festival 2024 in Australia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently reported that Myanmar participated in the National Multicultural Festival 2024 held on 17 February in Canberra, Australia, where traditional Myanmar cosmetic ‘Thanakha’ was introduced.
Chargé d’affaires ad interim Daw Zar Zar Min Thaw and staff of the Myanmar embassy in Canberra, along with diplomats from other ASEAN embassies, took part in the ASEAN showcase. At the festival, Myanmar exhibited paintings in gold and silver embroidery, Myanmar harps, lacquerwares, gemstone paintings, traditional jewellery items, Pathein parasols, and handicrafts. The Myanmar embassy provided explanations to guests about the traditional handicrafts and also introduced the traditional use of Thanakha. — ASH/TMT
