According to the Yangon Region Public Transport Regulatory Committee (YRTC), YBS and Taxi vehicles will no longer be allowed to post advertisements due to the increase in advertisements that are not in line with the city’s characteristics.
The Yangon Region Government has instructed that advertising on YBS vehicles and commercial vehicles will not be allowed since it affects the beauty of the city and does not match the features of the city.
The Road Transport Administration Department (RTAD) and the Yangon Region Public Transport Committee informed YBS bus companies and taxi owners.
“The Yangon regional government has instructed us not to continue sticking advertisements on YBS vehicles and taxis that do not conform to the characteristics of the city,” said Yangon Region Private Transport Supervisory Committee (YRTC) Joint Secretary U Lian Cin Mang.
Advert stickers on YBS vehicles and commercial vehicles were previously approved by the RTAD after collecting advertising fees.
The Directorate of Road Transport will not renew the registration of YBS passenger vehicles and taxis if there are advertisements on their vehicles. — TWA/GNLM
