Food and Drug Administration released a list of 7 unsafe cosmetics that are unregistered and contain restricted chemical ingredients that are harmful to health on 25 March.
Under the guidance of the Ministry of Health, FDA has properly managed to ensure cosmetics to be qualified and secured for the public health, and after inspection being carried out on cosmetics sold in the local market in 2023, 7 cosmetics are found unsuitable for using.
The 7 cosmetics that are unsuitable for using are- Y-CID/ Diamond Meteor eye show ball 03 5g manufactured by YCID REFIBED Chemical Industrial Co, Ltd, I U Beauty/ Lip gloss 04 4.8ml made in China, MILA color/ primer eyebrow kit 03 9g written in Thai language, Kiss Beauty/Blus Power 2#, Sunset beauty/ eye shadow palette 19.7g written in Chinese, Mila color/ peach sweet palette makeup set 56g written in Thai language and Mila color/fresh lemon 10 color eye shadow palette 01 written in Thai language.
Prohibited chemical substances cause skin irritation, swollen, rash and numbness, muscle shaking, fatigue, headache and depression from soaking into body from skin, as well as kidney failure and other diseases for long-term use.
Therefore, cosmetic distributors, retailers and wholesalers should ethically not distribute and sell products that are made public being unregistered and not suitable for using and if they fail, respective authority would take actions under section 3, chapter 3 (d) of the Public Health Law, FDA warned.
