Innocent locals return after fleeing from armed conflicts in Lay Kay Kaw

Security forces arrested NUG and PDF terrorists in Lay Kay Kaw town of Kayin State and after that case, the armed engagement broke out between security forces and NUG and PDF terrorists, including members of KNU/KNLA, who want to break NCA, starting 15 December. The innocent residents fled to the other country.
Security forces controlled that area on 28 December and reinvited these displaced persons using loudspeakers in Kayin and Myanmar languages. The Thai-Myanmar border committees negotiated and a total of 1,708 displaced people — 807 males and 901 females — from Ingyin Myaing, Min Let Pan, Mae Htaw Tha Lay and Myitta Lin Myaing villages returned to their respective areas yesterday.
Officials systematically received the returnees and provided necessary assistance. — MNA
