MoH appoints more than 600 interns to serve in public hospitals

The Ministry of Health has appointed a total of 604 apprentices from medical universities under the Department of Human Resources for Health to teaching hospitals in various states and regions for one year, starting from July.
Upon completion of the internship period, these apprentices must continue to serve the country as assistant surgeons. Besides, they are also allowed to attend 11 post-graduate courses for which service term is not limited.
The Union Civil Service Board started accepting applications on 21 May for recruiting 1,106 doctors in the Medical Services Department and the Human Resources for Health Department under MoH.
Currently, there are 47,337 medical doctors, 5,437 dentists, 4,222 pharmacists, 4,529 medical technicians, 9,496 nursing science graduates, and 2,366 community health professionals working under the Ministry of Health.
In addition, 140 post-graduate courses, such as diploma, master’s, and doctorate courses, are also being conducted, according to the ministry. — TWA/CT
