MR to extend Yangon-Mawlamyine-Yangon Night Express Train on 11 Dec

On 11 December 2022, the Yangon-Mawlamyine-Yangon night express train will be operated daily, according to the Myanma Railways.
The No 81 Up train will leave for Mawlamyine at 8 pm from Yangon railway station on 11 December 2022 and arrive in Mawlamyine at 5:45 am the following day. Similarly, the No 82 Down train will depart for Yangon at 8 pm from Mawlamyine railway station on 12 December 2022 and reach Yangon at 5:55 am on 13 December. The extended train will run every day.
On the way, Up and Down trains will only halt at Paung, Thaton, Bago and Toegyaunggale stations. They will take nine hours from Yangon to Mawlamyine. Tickets are priced at K7,050 for the upper class and K3,550 for the ordinary class.
“Train carriages are clean and tidy because of the pneumatic suspension system, and they were also equipped with CCTVs for the security of passengers. The train has seven carriages for the ordinary class, five carriages for the upper class and one breakdown carriage,” explained a responsible person from Myanma Railways No 8 Division (transport/regional office) Mawlamyine. — Than Min Aung (MNA)/GNLM
