Some Myanmar workers were going to the ROK under EPS in 2024.

A total of 5,850 Myanmar workers were sent to the Republic of Korea (ROK) under the Employment Permit System (EPS) between January and August 2024, primarily for the construction, agriculture, and livestock industries.
Myanmar regularly sends workers to the ROK for manufacturing, construction, agriculture, and livestock sectors, with the majority employed in manufacturing. However, the number of workers sent in July and August was the lowest in eight months.
The Overseas Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour manages the sending of workers to the ROK through the EPS. In 2023, a total of 10,611 Myanmar workers were sent, with a target of approximately 11,000 for 2024. Additionally, this year marks the first time that Myanmar will send female workers to the ROK for the service industry.— TWA/TMT
