Myanmar workers leave for Thailand under MoU system

Under the MoU system between Myanmar and Thailand, the Department of Labour under the Ministry of Labour, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, yesterday afternoon sent a total of 150 Myanmar workers (125 men and 25 women) through the Kawthoung border to work in Thailand.
Those Myanmar workers were sent to Thailand under the arrangement by JMK Services Co Ltd, which is an overseas employment agency (Thailand), to work for the Thailand Company Phakee Development Co Ltd under a two-year contract. They were conveyed by flight to Kawthoung via Yangon and sent to Thailand by the maritime route through the Kawthoung International Border. Thus, the Kawthoung District Department of Labour, Department of Immigration and Population of Kawthoung District Office, Anti-Trafficking Police Task Force and responsible organizations carried out necessary tests and examinations for them and officials of the employment company properly transported them to the company where they will work in Thailand, it is learnt. — Kyaw Soe (Kawthoung)/GNLM
