Myanma Pearl Enterprise (MPE) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation has announced the successful auction of Myanmar’s South Sea pearls in the esteemed Chinese gems market. Collaborating with the South Asia Future Investment Group, MPE orchestrated the sale of these coveted pearls through a meticulous tender system.
The highly anticipated event took place in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, spanning two days on 26 and 27 July. Distinguished by the presence of 61 trading organizations and approximately 150 merchants hailing from prominent Chinese provinces like Shenzhen, Beijing, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, Hong Kong, and Mongolia, the auction attracted substantial attention.
Evidencing the allure of Myanmar’s South Sea pearls, these gem enthusiasts expressed their satisfaction with the pearls’ exceptional quality by bidding generously, leading to impressive prices. Adding an immersive touch to the event, Myanmar’s South Sea pearls were showcased through captivating introduction videos, tailored for the discerning Chinese merchants.
In an effort to further deepen the engagement, the event also extended a special invitation to the Chinese merchants, urging their participation in the upcoming Myanma Gems and Pearls Emporium, slated to grace Nay Pyi Taw in October. — MNA/KTZH
