This month, selections will be held for the three football academies opened by the Myanmar Football Federation.
Newcomers will be selected at Myanmar Football Academy (Mandalay) from 12 to 15, Myanmar Football Academy (Pathein) from 5 to 7 May and National Football Academy (Yangon) from 8 to 10 May, MFF officials said.
Officials added that new players between the ages of 11 and 15 will be selected for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The new football students will be selected based on the current grade level. They must have played in the minimum township student competitions and be talented young players from the township football federation.
Only one parent or guardian is allowed to attend the event, and youth players will have to pay for their own living and travel expenses. Selected students will be required to study football education and classes at the academy under the auspices of the Myanmar Football Federation. They will be eligible for other tuition-related assistance, including monthly stipends.
The individual football performance will be tested first, and the team performance will be followed up next during the event.
Youth fitness and football-related knowledge tests will also be conducted, officials said. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
