The 20/2022 Press Conference of the Information Team of the State Administration Council took place at the Ministry of Information yesterday afternoon. Leader of the Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, member of the Union Election Commission U Khin Maung Oo, spokespersons of relevant departments and representatives of departmental information teams replied to queries raised by the media.
First, the Leader of the Information Team explained attendance of the Myanmar high-level delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the Eastern Economic Forum-EEF at the invitation of the government of the Russian Federation, their discussions to promote cooperation between Myanmar and Russian Federation in various sectors including holding discussions with President of the Russian Federation Mr Vladimir Putin, efforts of the SAC in applying practical ways and means for improvement of socio-economic life of the State and citizens including businesspersons facing loss in the Covid-19 amid various kinds of difficulties, its endeavours of monitoring and sustaining the monetary affairs, peacemaking efforts of the SAC, assistance given by the Disaster Management Department under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement for those suffering the current conflicts during the 18-month period when the SAC assumed State responsibilities, resurgence of Covid-19 infection, progress of vaccination, terror acts of so-called NUG and PDF terrorist groups in the nation and notices to the people not to commit contribution to the terrorist groups, through PowerPoint Presentation and video clips.
The UEC member clarified inspection at political parties by the Union Election Commission, checking the voter lists with the ground population to be correct, scrutiny over the population already compiled under the pilot project, and functions of the commission through PowerPoint presentations.
Then, the Leader of the Information Team, the UEC member and representatives of the departmental information team replied to queries raised by media personnel and the press conference came to a close.
The press conference was also attended by SAC’s information team members, representatives of relevant ministries, officials from the Tatmadaw Information Team, guests, and reporters from local news agencies, daily newspapers, local TV stations, and local-based foreign news agencies. — MNA
