Shan United beat Maha United to lead MNL table

Defending champion Shan United Football Club continued its winning streak on the last day of Match-10 in the Myanmar National League 2023, after winning over Maha United with a 1-0 result at Thuwunna Stadium, yesterday.
The Shan United won by a narrow margin, but the current champion managed to stay at the top of the standing table in the first half of this season while also maintaining their unbeaten record. The two teams participated in the competition with their strongest first lineup including foreign players. At the beginning of the match, the Maha United FC was unable to score the goal although they had some chances. After 20 minutes, the Shan United team was able to press back to the Maha team. However, they didn’t change the chances into goal, and as a result, the first half ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, the Shan United launched more attacks on goal, and at the 55th minutes, they got a winning goal through Myat Kaung Khant’s header from Mark Sekyi’s cross ball. During the remaining time, the Shan United maintained their winning result and earned three points more from this match.
Myat Kaung Khant of Shan United’s midfielder won the best player of the match. After this match, the Shan United accumulated 28 points in 10 games, securing the top position on the table. They were followed by Yangon United FC with 24 points in nine games. The ISPE team stands at third place with 17 points in nine games. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
