SSB expands healthcare services for insured workers in three regions ahead of 77th Union Day

Mobile medical unit of the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Board gives medical services to insured workers in industrial zones.

As part of hailing for the upcoming 77th Anniversary of Union Day, the Ministry of Labour’s Social Security Board has expanded healthcare provisions to workers in industrial zones across Yangon, Mandalay, and Bago regions, all covered by social security, through the deployment of three mobile medical units.
As of January 2024, social security covered over 1.2 million insured workers. The board delivered medical services at three general hospitals, 96 township-level social security clinics, 14 maternity clinics, and one traditional medicine clinic.
Simultaneously, the mobile medical teams provided treatment to workers from 9 to 15 February, including 5,657 individuals in Yangon Region, 1,173 in Mandalay Region, 2,286 in Gyobingauk Township, and 837 in Nattalin Township, Bago Region. The treatments encompassed various medical services, such as lab tests and ECG examinations for heart health. — MNA/NT
