The opening ceremony of the 2023 State and Region Lethwei Tournament was held yesterday afternoon at Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw, attended by members of the State Administration Council.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan who is also Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee gave a speech and opened the competition by encouraging the new generation of fighters to strengthen Myanmar’s sports.
The tourney will run till 11 October, featuring four men’s events for 51, 54, 60 and 67- kilogramme categories and one female event for 48 Kilogramme. — MNA/KZL
