Surge continues in issuance of temporary border passes in Muse

The officials concerned from the District/Township Department of Immigration cooperated with relevant departments in issuing the Temporary Border Pass-TBP at the Muse district stadium compound yesterday morning as the number of TBP is being issued continuously increasing by the appointment system in Muse township, the border town between Myanmar and China in Shan State (North).
A total of 5,358 persons who will travel with the TBP were issued nine-day unrenewable cards by the officials concerned under the supervision of U Aung Zaw Moe, chairman of the Muse district administration body. The TBP unrenewable cards have been issued to 1,500 persons for three days on 13 September, 6,466 for 13 days on 16 September and 5,035 for nine days on 30 September.
The Myanmar-China Temporary Border Pass (TBP) has been processed by the appointment system since 13 September and a total of 13,718 persons received TBPs for 34 days until 7 October. In the previous arrangement, it was able to pass 300 persons with TBP through the Nantaw border and 200 through the Sinphyu border per day.
It was reported that the authorities from the two countries negotiated and increased the number of border-passed people to 330 persons through the Nantaw border and 250 through the Sinphyu border on 30 September. — Muse District IPRD/MKKS
