The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi arrived back in Yangon yesterday evening after attending the Third Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation held in Nyingchi, China’s Xizang Autonomous Region from 4 to 6 October.
During the visit, the Union minister observed the community-based tourism, Tibetan archery, horse riding and trekking services in Zashigan Tibet village in Loulan city on 5 October.
On 6 October, the Union minister visited the Loulan nature reserve spanning over 43,00 hectares and heard the presentations of officials regarding the conservation of evergreen forests and natural environment, watershed areas, research on biodiversity and ecosystem, and recreational sites for people.
Moreover, he proceeded to Yani National Wetland Park (8,737 hectars) at an altitudes higher than 3,000 metres and studied the conservation of hilly water resources, mainland, mountain ecosystem, wildlife and bird species. He also went to over 100-year-old Lamalin Buddhist Temple and studied Tibetan architecture, religion and culture. — MNA/KTZH
