Trade through Myanmar-Thai border posts surpasses US$1.15 billion

According to Daw Cho Thet Mu, Deputy Director of the Trade Policy Branch of the Department of Trade at the Ministry of Commerce, trade through Myanmar-Thai border posts amounted to over $1.15 billion from April to August in the 2024-2025 financial year.
During this period, Myanmar exported goods worth approximately $960 million to Thailand and imported goods valued at $190 million.
Daw Cho Thet Mu noted, “From 1 April to 19 August 2024, we exported goods worth around $960 million to Thailand and imported goods worth $190 million. This has resulted in a trade surplus of $770 million.”
Border trade between Myanmar and Thailand occurs through several trade posts, including Myawady Trade Zone, Tachilek, Kawthoung, Myeik, Htikhee, and Mawtaung borders. — ASH/TMT
